At Crosby Land Company, we are land owners ourselves. Our roots are in the land!
After serving active duty in the United States Air Force, Todd L. Crosby began his career in the forest products industry in 1993. This experience served him well, as he gained significant knowledge and expanded his capabilities in forest and land management. This eventually led him to forest resource consultants, Shaw, McLeod, Belser and Hurlbutt and a full time career in real estate in 2002. SMB&H would later become American Forest Management, Inc., one of the largest privately owned forestry consulting and land brokerage firms in the US. After 16 years of a successful partnership with AFM, Todd’s strong desire to expand his presence in rural land brokerage led him to open Crosby Land Company, Inc. in 2018.
Todd’s areas of specialty include historic antebellum plantations, large recreational tracts for outdoor enthusiasts, investment grade timberland and multi-use agricultural properties. As a landowner himself, Todd has the ability to share his experience and knowledge to improve wildlife habitat for upland game birds, management of waterfowl impoundments, dove fields as well as implement sound forest management practices.
Having grown up in the Lowcountry, and more specifically the ACE Basin area of Colleton County, he has a deep appreciation for land and rural communities. Recognizing the threat this area faces from growing development Todd and his wife Melissa recently decided to protect their property “Holly Bluff” from fragmentation and development in perpetuity with a conservation easement. As a result of this process, he knows and understands how easements work, how these measures can enhance property and conservation community market values, and how these decisions can be used to assist landowners in estate planning.
Since 2010, Todd sold more than $ 200 million dollars worth of rural land which included over 100,000 acres in the Southeast.
Whether you are buying land for the first time or selling a property that has been in your family for decades, Todd understands land, land transactions, and the associated intricacies as very few can.
Todd and Melissa have four children and reside on their property near Yemassee, South Carolina.
