John DuRant

John was born and raised on the banks of the Black River in Gable, SC; his love of the outdoors was instilled in him at a young age on his family’s tobacco and row crop farm. He grew up at his Daddy’s knee in the fields and swamps, developing an appreciation and passion for all things outdoors. He received a BS in Agricultural Economics from Clemson University. After stints as an Insurance Agency owner and real estate brokerage owner with Mossy Oak Properties, he has decided to simplify things and use his vast experience with people, land, and the outdoors to assist buyers and sellers in fulfilling their goals of land ownership. He has helped his clients with land transactions across the state, emphasizing the Pee Dee and Lowcountry areas. “I believe firmly in conservation and leaving our property better than when we found it for the generations to come to enjoy it.”

John and his wife, Lisa, have two sons. Henry is a student at Clemson, and Rutledge, who recently married, currently works as a crop insurance adjuster. In his free time, John enjoys being active in New Harmony Presbyterian Church and walking trails in our State Parks with his wife and their Boykin, Ellie.
