Alton Smith
Alton graduated from Clemson University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Forest Resource Management. He started his postgraduate career as a forester with a private forestry consulting firm before forming his own company. In 2013, he started Smith Forest Management, LLC, serving the South Carolina Lowcountry and surrounding areas as a consultant forester for private landowners.
Growing up in Hampton County, South Carolina, Alton began his love for forestry and the outdoors at an early age. Working with his father and grandfather on their family property, he learned the importance of land management. The knowledge gained through these early life experiences has helped him succeed in land management today.
Currently, Alton is a Registered Forester in South Carolina. He is also an active member of the Society of American Foresters, the South Carolina Forestry Association, and South Carolina Farm Bureau. In 2007, Alton became a licensed real estate agent to better serve his clients.
Alton resides with his wife, Ashlyn, and their two sons, Luke and Jackson, on their family farm in rural Hampton County.
