Tulifinny Acres
Description
Tulifinny Acres represents the second of two significant conservation purchases facilitated between a local landowner and The Nature Conservancy. The first transaction completed the Coosawhatchie Heritage Preserve by securing the final 625 acres for the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and The Nature Conservancy. The second transaction, Tulifinny Acres, included the acquisition of the last remaining parcel of the historic Gregorie Neck Plantation. Today, that parcel is permanently protected under a conservation easement, ensuring another storied Lowcountry waterfront property will remain free from future development.
The landscape of Tulifinny Acres is as diverse as it is breathtaking. Towering mature pines, ancient live oaks, and beautiful hardwood bottoms intermingle across rolling terrain that overlooks nearly two miles of the scenic Tulifinny River. This rare combination of features creates an extraordinary setting that appeals to both conservationists and outdoor enthusiasts. Wildlife thrives here, offering exceptional opportunities for hunting, recreation, and appreciation of the natural Lowcountry environment.
With over 17,000 acres of historic Lowcountry plantations now permanently preserved through efforts like these, Tulifinny Acres stands as a testament to the importance of stewardship and land protection. It is a property of timeless beauty and ecological significance, one that embodies the unique character and conservation legacy of the South Carolina Lowcountry.
